KELLY'S Surf Shop in Tamarindo, Costa Rica hooks you up with what you need in Tamarindo – to get out there and go surfing! We offer high-quality individual surf instruction for beginning and intermediate students. We give only private lessons to individuals or small groups, and schedule all lessons according to tides and ocean conditions. What this means is that you get the best lessons possible.

Intermediate Surfers

If you already have the basics but you want to improve your surfing while in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, your instructor will paddle out with you. We can help you speed up your stand-ups, start to ride the faces of waves, and improve the timing of your take-offs. The only person who can make you a better surfer is you, but we can help you read the signs and show you some shortcuts along the road to becoming more confident. Since lessons are private, you can be sure that what you get is at the right level and all about what you need.

Improve your skills

For surfers who already know the basics but want company or coaching, we’ll go out and surf with you, giving you tips and pointers that will help you get into waves and get on your feet faster than ever. you learn as much in one lesson than you would surfing by yourself for a month

Surf lessons in Tamarindo are scheduled according to tide height, which moves in a cyclical pattern. You let us know when you’ll be in town; we’ll consult our tide charts and plan your lessons.

Surfing lessons are an hour and a half in length and include the use of the surfboard/s and rash guard/s for 4 hours.

Age is no obstacle

You are not too old, too young, too out-of-shape or too clueless to learn to surf! Your trained instructor has experience with students of all ages, from school children to grandparents, and will structure your lessons according to your needs. Plus, it will add to your vacation fun to take a surfing lesson in Tamarindo, Costa Rica.

If you know how to swim, you can learn how to enjoy the ocean in this beautiful and challenging way.

Making a Reservation

Your reservation for surf lessons in Tamarindo, Costa Rica is considered final when we receive a 50% non-refundable deposit. The balance may be paid here in Tamarindo or you may request to pay the entire reservation in advance.
